Description
This hands-on, action-oriented Faculty Learning Community will explore intersectional strengths and needs of students experiencing complex and overlapping challenges, which may include food and housing insecurity, disability, physical or mental health conditions, family obligations, and more. The FLC will do this through analysis of data from a two-year grant on student success, with a special focus on data related to faculty-student interactions. The data is from The Pioneers for HOPE Learning Framework, a two-year project funded by the Stupski Foundation to investigate and identify strategies that support underserved and under-resourced students to make academic progress and complete their degrees. In particular, we may choose to have a couple of longer sessions to allow for data analysis and/or a writing retreat, and if so, we may remove one or more sessions. We may also choose to make a few sessions zoom meetings.
