Q: What do I need to collect from students?
A: We need BOTH a consent (completed by parent/guardian) and assent (completed by student) form on file for each student. We cannot use a student's data without both the completed forms. The forms should be issue electronically. More information including an email template for sending the forms here: Consent and Assent Form.
Q: How do I know who did and did not complete the consent and assent form?
A: The research team will update consent and assent form information every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Once a form has been submitted your SIS will be updated.
Q: How do students complete the end of course survey?
A: The end of course survey is issued via Qualtrics. Teachers will need to distribute the link to the survey and each student's unique token/password to their class (found in the Survey & Exam Tokens Tab of your SIS, more information here).
Q: Does Mobile CSP have an official study guide for the midterm or final exam?
A: Mobile CSP has not created a formal study guide for the midterm. Please reference the tips below to help you prepare your students for the midterm.
Review Self-Check Exercises | We recommending reviewing the self-check exercises with students to help them prepare for the exam. These can be found at the end of each lesson.
Access the Mobile CSP Assessments folder | The Mobile CSP Assessment folder is a collaborative resource created by Mobile CSP staff and teachers. Many teachers have shared example quizzes and study guides that may be helpful in preparing your students for the exam. Please remember that many of these resources were created by individual teachers. With this in mind we ask that you use your own discretion when selecting a resource to use and sharing it with your students.
Reach out on the Teaching Mobile CSP Forum | The Teaching Mobile CSP forum is a great place to start if you are looking for study guides or resources! We encourage teachers to reach out and communication with one another. A teacher might be willing to share their study guide with you if you ask.
Q: I tried using an extra urvey token for another assessment and it did not work. What am I doing wrong?
A: Only the tokens assigned to a particular assessment will work for that assessment (tokens listed in the column under the assessment heading). For example, you will NOT be able to use survey tokens to access the midterm.
Q: Can I issue the electronic assessment to student(s) who do not consent to participate?
A: Yes. Students who have disagreed to having their information shared can still complete the electronic assessments. We will remove the data of any student who has not consented to participate in the research project from any of our final reports.
