Research Requirements & Stipends
Why should I participate in research?
Our ultimate goal is to create a fun and effective CSA course where ALL teachers and students can be successful. The data we collect from our research projects gives us valuable insight into the effectiveness of our PD and curriculum and also provides feedback about how we can improve our materials for all students and teachers. Teachers who apply to participate, are accepted, and who meet all requirements will receive free PD and stipends totaling $500-1500 (if applicable)*.
*funding is limited and stipends may not be available for 2023-24.
When will stipends be awarded?
For those research participants who meet requirements, stipends will be awarded after the PD and academic year has ended and after the CSAwesome Team has verified requirements have been met. We ask that participants allow 4-6 weeks at the end of each term (PD or academic year) to allow us enough time to verify requirements and process paperwork. If paperwork is not returned by participants in a timely manner stipend payments may be delayed. Stipends will only be awarded to those accepted to participate in research and those who complete all requirements.
What will I be required to complete if I'm accepted to participate?
Teachers who apply and are accepted to participate in the research project will be required to complete PD and academic year research requirements. Those research participants who meet requirements will receive stipends.
The time commitment to submit research data is minimal and includes activities that will already be completed as a part of the PD and CSAwesome course.
