As old as the City of San Jose del Monte National Science High School itself in its founding year of 2013, the CSanSci Supreme Student Government (CSanSci SSG) grew to be a school partner and training ground for student-leaders. From its humble beginnings from as a pilot class in Bagong Buhay H Elementary School, the SSG rose to become the highest student governing body with numerous clubs under its wings.
Ma'am Marylou Barredo, one of the pioneering teachers of CSanSci, was entrusted to be the first SSG adviser as mandated to AP teachers in 2013. From the pilot class of CSanSci in Bagong Buhay H, the first SSG president was Ms. Andrea Velasco. She has laid the foundations of the SSG, which is akin to a class president since the school is only at its infancy stage.
The first homegrown students became the source of SSG student-leaders as they move up their grade levels. From the same class came the succeeding SSG presidents Mr. Daniel Joaquino, Ms. Haela Cuerto, and Ms. Cyn Gutlay. Their leadership was marked by training opportunities, specifically in Baguio and other far-away venues. They are also assisting Ma'am Malou to serve the growing student population. They have also witnessed the transfer of the school site to its current location in the Muzon Ecopark.
To augment the needed student population in CSanSci for Senior High School, transferees from other schools are allowed to be the first batch of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) strand of SY 2017-2018. From their batch came the first transfer-in SSG president, Ms. Barby Anne Florano. The Facebook page of SSG was created in June 1, 2017.Â
Ms. Raemel Nicole Florendo rose to become the next president of the SSG. Her leadership opens for community outreaches in the Special Education in Benito Nieto and Home for the Aged in Tungkong Mangga. They also were able to participate in numerous off-campus trainings. She and her SSG secretary Mr. Condalor landed in the top 10 of the Mr. and Ms. SSG.
From being a secretary and Kabataan Tungo sa Kaunlaran ng Kasaysayan (KKK, then AP club) president, Mr. Mark Austin Condalor was elected to be the president of the CSanSci SSG and the SSG Division Federation. From his administration, the CSJDMNSHS witnessed a massive growth in student-related programs. He extended the community outreaches to Ricafort Elementary School, collaborated with clubs such as KKK and Lexicon Club for monthly events such as Lakan at Lakambini 2019, worked with parents and clubs by putting up booths in the Intramurals and Family Day 2019, and spoke in leadership seminars that inspired a new generation of student-leaders.
When the COVID-19 pandemic struck, the school has shifted to online modality. This proved to be a challenge for the Grade 10 representative-turned-president Ms. Jorezzel Rodrigo. In partnership with the Guidance Office, the SSG launched the Building Resilience in the Times of Crisis webinar series. This established the continued solid online presence of SSG for CSJDMNSHS students.
On the second year of the COVID-19 pandemic, a student-leader with technological skills is a must. That is why the KKK president Mr. John Michel Ramil was chosen by the studentry. In his leadership, more clubs were challenged to be active online due to his Club Modernization program. Mr. Ramil's intiative launched the CSanSci Expo 2022, a series of webinar that tackled about various student issues such as bullying, anti-terrorism, and mental health, and the Online Intramurals 2022, where clubs hosted their own subject-related games.
As the classes transitioned from hybrid to face-to-face, the key to SSG presidency was transferred to Mr. Heaven Gabriel Dayao, former vice president. The SSLG served as a conduit for vitamins and supplements as it donated to the school and the community. He has launched the Love Fest, CSanSci special Valentine's Day event with various booths and battle of the bands. Also, he has established an independent volunteer arm of the SSLG, the SSLG Taskforce.
His vice-president, Ms. Hannah Joi Nazareta, succeeded him as president. Ms. Nazareta, who later won as the SSLG Division Federation President, expanded the school connections to various organizations. Clubs boomed in number, and collaborations such as the HistoryBook, a historical reading and donation drive by the KKK, SSLG, Lexicon Club, Faculty, and Parents-Teachers Association made possible.
After eleven years of being SSLG adviser, Ma'am Malou transferred the responsibility to Ma'am Mara Danica Ramos, who served as the strongest partner of SSLG as JHS Guidance Designate for 6 years. Meanwhile, former SSLG Grade 10 representative Mr. Andrei Rudolf Conceja won the presidency.
