Our school day is full of learning; therefore, your child will need a “working snack”. A "working snack" is any snack your child can eat while still completing work. Please send a healthy snack for your child to enjoy each day. We ask that your child's snack be easy to open and not require a utensil.
Teachers may also ask for donations of extra snack to keep in the classroom for days when a student does not have one.
We also ask that you send a water bottle with your child each day.
We love to celebrate birthdays! We do not have class parties, but you are more than welcome to send a treat to share with your child’s class. Some suggestions of treats: cupcakes, cookies, cookie cake (pre-sliced), little Debbie snacks, etc.
Birthday snacks can be left in the office by noon.
**invitations for parties out of school must be sent for all students in the class**
Kindergarten typically goes on one big field trip a year. More information will come as we get closer to the field trip date. If you would like to join us on our trip, you MUST be approved through VIPS. Siblings are NOT permitted on our trips, per district policy.
Shoes: Your child will need tennis shoes for P.E. and recess everyday.
Extra Clothes: We recommend that students keep a change of clothes, labeled with their name, in their backpack (socks and underwear included). Make sure the clothes are seasonally appropriate.
Daily Folders: They are a primary form of communication for all things GP and Kinder. Please view them and return them daily. Any events happening for the month will also be included on the calendar located in the folder and important notes from the school will come home in these folders.
Transportation changes: If you need to change your child's transportation for the day, please call the office and let them know. They will send the information to your child's teacher.
Library: Since our library day changes week to week, please store your child's library book in their backpack. This will ensure that on library day, they have their book to exchange.
