Research

My research interests are international migration, public policy evaluation, transition economics, labor and population economics, with a focus on Romania and on countries from Central and Eastern Europe.

I have coordinated as principal investigator six research grants on migration and labor issues financed by Romanian or international institutions (including the project “Labour migration in Romania and its influence on economic growth”, financed by the Romanian government) and I have been a team member in more than 20 projects. My contributions are mainly related to applying quantitative research methods, statistical and econometric analysis in the study of Romanian and European migration.

I was the leader of Romanian team in the “MOVE” Project, financed by the European Commission (Grant no. 649263, financed through the Horizon 2020 Programme), on behalf of the Bucharest University of Economic Studies.
