The Municipality of Saint-Sébastien-de-Frontenac

Located in the Granit region of the Eatern Townships, only 255 km from Montreal and 156 km from Québec city, you will find one of the highest municipalities in Québec, Saint-Sébastien-de-Frontenac. This quaint commmunity was founded in 1855, by the Compté Bellechasse.

The First Mass

Before the church was built, the first mass in Saint-Sébastien-de-Frontenac was held in the house of Louis Paradis, at 531, rue Principale, in 1857.

The Church

The church in Saint-Sébastien-de-Frontenac was built in 1887. Situated across from the primary school, at 1889 rue de la Fabrique, the neoclassical architecture looks upon the four directions of the village and onto the surrounding mountains.

School des Sommets

Situated at 287, rue de la Fabrique, in Saint-Sébastien-de-Frontenac, you will find the primary school des Sommets. It was built in 1960, and today has 85 students, and is growing.

The Arena

You’ll find the arena behind the primary school des Sommets in Saint-Sébastien-de-Frontenac, at 303 rue Dorval. Built in 1975, the arena has brought the people of the town together to play ice sports in the winter, and for the Expo Agricole in the summer.

Formally the location of the restaurant La Martinique, the drum shop Ebenor Percussion is located at 272, route 263, in Saint-Sébastien-de-Frontenac. Built in 2014, this company is internationally renowned for its high-end built custom drums.

La Martinique, a well loved restaurant of the past, was built in 1954, and was located on 272, route 263 in Saint-Sébastien-de-Frontenac. Now, you will find Ebenor Percussion in its place.


BMR Avantis (the Coop)

With many members today, the Coop BMR Avantis is a staple in Saint-Sébastien-de-Frontenac, and has been serving the community since 1914. Originally a creamery, today you can come to 228, rue Commercialeit for agricultural supplies, building materials, hardware, groceries, and even homemade meals.

A. Lacroix Granit

Created in 1962, A. Lacroix Granit has made an international name for itself as a third generation granit supplier. Its projects include numerous building interiors and exteriors, urban and landscaping projects, and memorials in both Canada and the USA. It is located at 450, rue Principale, in Saint-Sébastien-de-Frontenac.


MJP Express

MJP Express, the Québec based freight shipping trucking company, was founded in 2009. It is situated at 192 rue Commerciale in Saint-Sébastien-de-Frontenac. This company transports Saint-Sébastien’s world-renowned granit from the region to the largest cities in the USA.


Fire Station 38

The fire station 38 is found at 412, rue Principale, in Saint-Sébastien-de-Frontenac. The station got its name from the devastating fire of 1938.

La Marmaille, is a day care situated at 495 rue Principale, in Saint-Sébastien-de-Frontenac.
