Our chapter inducts its new members during an induction ceremony held annually in late February, March, or April. This is a very formal ceremony and all members and chapter candidates are required to attend. Our induction ceremony is a dressy occasion and young mean wear suits and ties and young ladies are appropriately and conservatively attired as well. Administrators, teachers, counselors, board members, parents, siblings, grandparents, family friends, and other relatives all attend this memorable event. Candidates officially become members at this ceremony. New members are provided with their official NHS credentials, a membership card, and NHS pin. The NHS pin is worn the day of each NHS meeting and at all other appropriate NHS functions. An NHS candidate who does not attend the induction ceremony does NOT. become a member. Participation in the induction ceremony is a prerequisite to becoming a member as per our bylaws and the national constitution.

Inductions were held on a Saturday this year to avoid conflicting with our drama program and other events being held by our very active athletic and activities programs.
We held our Induction Ceremony late this year to wait out a COVID upsurge just a bit. This was the first in-person ceremony after COVID.
