Textbook PDF Chapters 1,2,3
This first unit is a review unit of CP Chemistry. It includes a discussion on the proper use of significant figures and dimensional analysis for making calculations in chapter 1. In Chapter 2, we continue with classifying matter and learning to name various compounds such as, ionics, covalents, hydrates, acids, and even organics. We use these skills in chapter 3, to make proper stoichiometric calculations taking into account limiting reactants.
Students will be able to calculate quantities of reactants and products required for a reaction to go to completion taking into account limiting reactants.
Students will be able to use significant figures to accurately describe quantities.
Students will use proper nomenclature to describe ionic, covalent, acids, hydrates and other compounds.
Learning targets are what the students will be assessed on.
