Test Optional Schools

TEST OPTIONAL ADMISSIONS

Many colleges and universities have moved to test-optional for admission. Some have done this due to the pandemic and others have chosen to prioritize other factors instead. This means...

...you may not need to submit your test scores to be considered for admission!

Instead, the college will focus on factors such as grades, performance in advanced classes, extra curricular involvement, and essays. If you are interested in learning more, an article from the Washington Post provides more information on the reason some schools have chosen this.

SHOULD I SUBMIT MY TEST SCORES OR NOT?

Unfortunately, there is not a simple answer to this question. It depends on you and the colleges you are applying to. Research the middle 50% statistics from the last class that was admitted. Be sure to learn as much as you can about each schools' test optional policy by using their website and asking questions. Pay close attention to whether or not you can change your mind once you make a choice and submit your application.
