Mechanical Modifications to the Walker:
User Feedback:
We talked to a potential user and their spouse/caretaker from our target user group. Both reacted positively and the caretaker stated,
"Retrieving the walker is something I do about four to six times a day because as soon as he (the patient) feels confident with walking, he walks away from the walker and can't remember where he left it".
The participants went on to suggest the robot should signal its status; what stage of the task it is in. For example, there are a few statuses the robot can have:
when it is in the process of finding the walker
the walker is found
the robot is positioning the walker for the user
