Workplace Wednesday Events - These events occur monthly during each schools lunch period. Local businesses visit each school, set up a table, and interact with students regarding internships, job opportunities after high school.

Worlds of Work (WOW)- The City of Chesapeake, in partnership with the Hampton Roads Workforce Council, is hosting its annual World of Works Career Immersion EXPO from October 21-22, 2025. This EXPO will feature hands-on opportunities for every 8th grader in Chesapeake Public Schools to experience a "moment in the life" of an industry professional within the city’s and the region’s most in-demand industries.
EVMS Health Science Academy - The EVMS Health Sciences Academy accepts 20-25 rising 10th-grade students each year beginning in the summer of 2023. The Health Sciences Academy is a multi-year, tuition-free enrichment program that allows high school students to explore diverse career paths in health care.
Take a ‘Peake Job Shadowing Day - Students participate in a one-day job shadowing experience during February in honor of career and technical education (CTE) month.
Take a 'Peake Teacher Job Shadowing Day - Selected CTE teachers participate in a one-day job shadowing day during the summer with area businesses. The goal is to empower teachers with the knowlege of various career pathways within industry to share with their students.
Grow Our Own Program - High school students are introduced to a work-related learning experience that will allow them to develop hands-on skills in departments within our school district. Students accepted into the summer program will take the one-credit Work-Based Learning Seminar course and complete a 40-hour paid internship. During the summer of 2024, we have 30 students participating in the program.
