Work-based learning is often viewed as a continuum that includes the four stages of career awareness, career exploration, career preparation, and career training. Students exposed to the four stages of career awareness, career exploration, career preparation, and career training should be introduced to the world of work so they can succeed in the workplace as adults. A continuum of activities provides the most effective work-based learning experiences.
