The Administration, Counseling Department, and Faculty at Taft High School strive to program students into appropriate courses with the following goal and framing principle in mind:
Goal: Place Students at Taft in courses where they have strong short-term outcomes and prepare the groundwork for long-term success.
Framing Principle: We want to place Students in courses where they:
Are cognitively challenged and supported.
Develop strong transcripts for Postsecondary endeavors (while meeting CPS Graduation Requirements).
Have appropriate choices to explore their passions and areas of interest.
