Google Certified Educator Training
Twice a school year, in the Fall and in the Spring, CPS offers a limited number of seats in the Google Boot Camps to prepare teachers for their Level 1 and Level 2 Google Educator Certifications. These boot camps are presented by our partners at Five Star Technology. Five Star designs training for adult learners using a variety of modes, never forgetting to have immediate application so that the training stays real and practical.
The Google Boot Camps are eight hours of intensive, virtual training sessions. These sessions are usually held after school for two hours, four days over the course of one week. Attendance at each session is mandatory. If you cannot commit to all four days of training, please consider giving up that space to someone who can attend all four sessions. Attendees who complete all 8 hours of the Boot Camps will also receive eight (8) ISBE credit hours in the Learning Hub.

Google Level 1 Boot Camp
Google Level 1 Boot Camp
Level 1 Educator is the first of two certifications specifically for classroom teachers. It focuses on core Google Workspace for Education tools at a foundational level. Basic integration, functions, and classroom application will be demonstrated as well as classroom best practices. Test-taking strategies and scenarios will be practiced during each session so participants are prepared to take the Google Educator Level 1 exam. Please note, this is not for beginning Google users. You will need to come to Bootcamp with a background in using Google Workspace for Education. This is a fast-paced camp, designed to prepare for certification.

Google Level 2 Boot Camp
Google Level 2 Boot Camp
Google Certified Educator Level 2 is the second of two certifications specifically for classroom teachers. Level 2 builds a deeper understanding of the Google Workspace tools and focuses on their application into classrooms. Additionally, exam strategies and scenarios are covered to help prepare participants to take the Google Educator Level 2 exam.
It is recommended that participants have previously attended a Level 1 Bootcamp and passed the certification exam.
