Google Meet is the default video conferencing platform for the District and provides a safe and secure way for educators to host video sessions with a group of students in real-time from a computer or mobile device. Google Meet is an approved CPS tool and is in compliance with our Acceptable Use Policies for communication between a teacher and a group of students.
Google Meet also allows users to instant message participants while you're actively in a Google Meet session. Chats within Google Meet are not saved and archived as they are in Google Chat. These meetings can also be recorded and live streamed. A transcript of Chat messages are archived when the Google Meet session is recorded.

Breakout Rooms
During real-time instruction, teachers can now create breakout rooms to divide students into small groups. Breakout rooms replicate in-person learning by providing opportunities for small group instruction and student collaboration and discussion around a specific topic. Present your Screen
Share higher-quality video with audio content in a Meet video call using the new Present a Chrome Tab feature. Now, when you use this feature with video content playing, everyone in the meeting will see and hear the video and audio being shared.
Present a tab and easily switch between tabs
When you present a tab, it will be highlighted so you can clearly see which one you’re presenting. If you change your view to a new tab, a pop-up will ask if you want to switch to presenting the new tab or keep presenting the previous tab, making it easy to move between tabs and control what information you share with the meeting.
Use “present a tab” to share high-quality video and audio
The high-quality video and audio playback only works when you present an individual tab feature in Chrome on desktop devices. It does not work if you’re presenting a full window or your whole screen.
