Sign into your CPS account
Click the "Waffle" button in the upper right corner
Scroll through the Google Apps until you find the Chat icon
At the top of the Chat window, click Search and enter your search term.
On the left, click the People, Rooms, or Bots box and enter search text..
(Optional) To narrow your search, click people and content types (such as images or videos).
Click Go to Thread to open the result.
Enter your message and choose an option:
To attach a file from your computer, click the Upload icon.
To attach a Drive file, click the Google Drive icon.
When you send the file, you'll be warned if the room or someone in a direct message doesn't have access. If you have Edit access to the file, you'll see an option to grant access. If you grant access to a room, it also applies to people who join the room later. If people leave the room, they lose access to the file unless they’re given access individually or through another group.
Select the file that you want to send and click Send.
A Room is a central place where team members can share files, assign tasks, and stay connected.
On the left, click in the search box and select Create Room from the drop down menu OR click on the Rooms + on the left.
Enter a room name.
(Optional) In the top left, click Choose an emoji. If you don't select an emoji, a default avatar is used.
Enter names or email addresses of people and groups you want to add. You can also select from suggestions. Suggestions include everyone in your organization, even if they don't have Chat.
(Optional) To allow threaded replies, select Use threaded replies. Important: You can’t change this setting later.
(Optional) To allow external people to join the room, select Allow people outside your organization to join. If your administrator doesn’t allow this feature, you may not have this option.Important: You can’t change this setting later.
(Optional) To notify invitees, select the box next to “Notify people via email.”
Click Create.
(Optional) To add more people and bots to the room, click Add people & bots. Enter names or emails. Click Send.
