Should people have control of a gun?

Write a brief summary

People should have control of a gun for many reasons for example their own safety. But others use it for the wrong reasons. So I did this project to know people's opinions about guns.

Describe the main issues you are going to cover.

The main issues are that some people use it for hunting, and for fun.

Out of 25 people surveyed, 88% agreed that people should have control of a gun.

There are many people with different opinions of an individual owning a gun. This interview helped me understand different beliefs other than myself. 22 of out 25 people chose yes and 3 out of 25 people said no. Most of the reasons people chose yes is for safety, for protection.

Interview Summary:

The purpose of this interview is to know if people should have the control of a gun. The person who I interview was my dad, he is 38, male. The most important questions I think its the most important are should people have control of a gun, at what age do you think it is best to have a gun and at what age is best for shooting rage? My dad said yes for the first one and said 18 for the other two.

My personal opinion

My opinion is that i think people should have control of a gun for their safety but not all people should have control of a gun because of the way they use it, some people use it to hurt people. But I’m going with the idea that people should have a gun for their own safety, just for safety.

My Essay:

Will gun control make a difference? The people defy the gun control safety law by injuring others yet there are others who use it to defend themselves in a dangerous situation. A survey was conducted of 25 students including myself. The central question is “Should we have control of a gun?” 22 out of 25 people agreed for safety and 3 out of 25 people disagreed. This interview helped me understand different perspectives.

Why we need more gun control in the US, Ronak Mohanty writes “You hear about it on the news and it is more common than you may think: Mass shootings are happening in schools, churches, and places of business. In fact, last year at North Kingstown High School, a student threatened to bring a gun into the school. Luckily, the police were able to determine the nature of the threat.” Another piece of evidence from Ronak Mohanty is “Having more gun control means having stricter laws and more security with gun transactions to prevent potentially dangerous individuals from purchasing weapons. It also means limiting the types of firearms citizens can buy. For example, most people say they need guns for personal protection, but no civilian needs an automatic assault rifle to defend themselves. For self-defense purposes, a normal handgun should be sustainable.”

Key facts about Americans and guns, KATHERINE SCHAEFFER Writes “Personal protection tops the list of reasons why gun owners say they own a firearm. In a Gallup survey conducted in August 2019, gun owners were most likely to cite personal safety or protection as the reason they own a firearm.” Another piece of evidence KATHERINE SCHAEFFER wrote “Americans are divided over whether restricting legal gun ownership would lead to fewer mass shootings. Debates over the nation’s gun laws have often followed recent mass shootings. But Americans are split over whether legal changes would lead to fewer mass shootings, according to the same spring 2021 poll.”

My opinion is both, people should have control of a gun for their safety but not all people should have control of a gun because of the way they use it, some people use it to hurt people. But I’m going with the idea that people should have a gun for their own safety, just for safety.

So, should people have control of a gun? People have different opinions, some said yes and some said no. Some people want it for safety. Maybe they will change the law to become more strict on owning a gun.
