7th Grade

Assessment Schedule: 

Students have one formative assessment per week, rotating between Interpersonal, Interpretive, and Presentational. The objectives for each quarter and mode of communication are listed below.

7th Grade Quarter 1:

Unit Theme: The Olympics + Pastimes 

Interpretive Reading: I can identify the topic and some isolated facts from simple sentences in informational texts about leisure activities and sports.

Interpersonal Speaking: I can ask and answer practiced and some original questions about sports, using simple sentences most of the time. I can answer a variety of simple questions about myself. I can ask simple questions about others. 

Presentational Writing: I can express my likes and dislikes such as favorite subjects, sports, or free-time activities. 

7th Grade Quarter 2:

Unit Theme:  My Typical Day

Interpretive Reading: I can identify the topic and some isolated elements in short fictional texts about a character’s daily activities. I can identify the topic and some isolated facts from simple sentences in informational texts about daily activities.

Interpersonal Speaking: I can ask and answer practiced and some original questions about daily activities, using simple sentences most of the time. I can express, ask about, and react to preferences, opinions, or feelings about daily activities using simple sentences most of the time and asking questions to keep the conversation on topic.

Presentational Writing: I can present personal information about my daily activities, using simple sentences most of the time.

7th Grade Quarter 3:

Unit Theme: The Environment and Protected Areas of Madagascar

Interpretive Reading: I can identify simple facts about Madagascar. I can identify different flora and fauna in Madagascar.

Interpersonal Speaking: I can have a simple conversation about what I do to protect the environment.

Presentational Writing: I can write basic instructions about how to protect the environment. I can present basic information about a protected area in Madagascar. I can present information about different flora and fauna. I can present why an area should be protected.

7th Grade Quarter 4:

Unit Theme: Découvrons Quelques Villes - Discovering French-speaking cities 

Interpretive:  I can identify the topic and some isolated facts from simple sentences in informational and fictional texts about Francophone cities.

Interpersonal Speaking: I can ask and answer practiced and original questions about Francophone cities using simple sentences most of the time.

Presentational Writing:  I can present information about Francophone cities using simple sentences most of the time.
