6th Grade

Assessment Schedule: 

Students have one formative assessment per week, rotating between Interpersonal, Interpretive, and Presentational. The objectives for each quarter and mode of communication are listed below.

6th Grade Quarter 1:

Unit Theme: Mealtime in the French-speaking world

Interpretive Reading: I can identify the topic and related information from simple sentences in

short informational texts

Interpersonal Speaking: I can request and provide information in conversations on familiar topics by creating simple sentences and asking appropriate follow-up questions.

Presentational Writing: I can give straightforward presentations on a variety of familiar topics and some concrete topics I have researched, using sentences and series of connected sentences.

6th Grade Quarter 2:

Unit Theme: Regions of France / Vacation & Travel

Interpretive Reading: I can sometimes identify the main idea of published materials. / Substandard: I can identify destinations and major attractions on a travel brochure.

Interpersonal Speaking: I can make plans with others. / Substandard: I can accept or reject an invitation to do something or go somewhere.

Presentational Writing: I can present information about things I have learned using phrases and simple sentences.

6th Grade Quarter 3:

Unit Theme: Making Plans in Paris!

Interpretive: I can understand information conveyed in simple, sentence-length speech on making plans and everyday activities.

Interpersonal Speaking: I can make plans with a friend. I can accept and reject plans. I can say what I want and do not want to do.

Presentational Speaking: I can present basic facts about monuments in Paris. I can present activities to do in Paris.

6th Grade Quarter 4:

Unit Theme: Friendship

Interpretive: I can classify actions with friends as either positive or negative based on their impact.

I can classify characteristics of a person as either positive or negative.

Interpersonal Speaking: I can respond to questions to determine if I am a good or bad friend.

I can describe why I am a good friend to someone.

Presentational Writing: I can explain why I am a good friend to someone else. I can describe my personality and likes.
