The Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica is an academic honor society focused on Spanish language excellence. It's purpose is to recognize high achievement in Spanish by students of secondary schools and to promote continuity of interest in Hispanic studies.
This Spanish Honor Society was founded by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese in 1953, for the students of North American secondary schools; and this chapter was established at Whiteland Community High School in 2018. The name of this chapter is El Guaraní comes from an indigenous group in South America, El Guaraní means warriors, just like our Mascot here at Whiteland Community High School.
