We have finished Chapter 4 and are moving forward with Chapter 5: Place Value to 100 in our Math curriculum which will focus on the following target areas:
Read and write numbers through 100.
Compare and order numbers.
Recognize odd and even numbers and skip count by 5s and 2s.
Solve problems using logical reasoning.
We finished Unit 5 of Superkids this month and will begin Unit 6 when we return from Christmas break in January.
Daily 5 will continue to be a part of our literacy time. Students are self-paced during this time with our complete switch to online learning. I am staying online with students to help and answer questions during this time as well. Students continue to work on: Read to Self, Work on Writing, Word Work, and Listen to Reading "rotating" every 15 minutes. I have created Daily 5 slides for students to know the expectations and work for each 15 minute time block.

In December, students will be working on science skills focusing on the topic in Chapter 3 "A Look at Animals."

Explore through inference why birds are living things.
Describe ways animals are alike and different.
Explore and communicate how pets are alike.
Identify characteristics of mammals.
Explore differences in animals through classifying.
Distinguish between and identify characteristics of birds, fish, amphibians, reptiles, and insects.
Explore growth changes between young animals and adult animals by comparing.
Compare growth differences and similarities among animals.
