Homework
Students should read as much as they can each night--this is their daily homework.
VOCAB: Four square due Wednesday--4 words.
Reading work—students should be reading their novel and adding notes all about character.
Character mind map will be due May 26.--information below.
This week we will continue working on writing stories with a shared theme from work done in the last mini unit.
Students are working on websites this week. Those falling behind should also work on them at home.

Students will begin a short Lit unit focusing on listening standards . We will be using the podcast "Mars Patel."
Reading of choice novel continues this week with the focus on new story element notes--prompts can be found in Google Classroom.
Students will be responsible for work during podcast.

Non-Fiction Unit begins this week.
Students will start with small nonfiction books (mostly Who Was... books.
Students can still read other fiction books on the side, but the work in class this week will be from the non-fiction title they picked out Monday.
Wednesday homework--finish chapter 2 and 3 in their non-fiction book. Pick one of the activities from sheet to do in notebook. ONLY HOMEWORK IF THEY DIDN'T FINISH IN CLASS.
Students will begin the final bend of their Literary Analysis unit.
They will begin work on "The Elves and the Shoemaker"
Students will annotate and choose a theme for the story this week.

Social Book Clubs continue this week,
Students should be sure they are up to date on reading and notes before each meeting.
We are onto Bend 2 of lit analysis.
