Starting in 1994, the Georgia High School Association moved to a team format for the state tennis playoffs, replacing the old format of using points from the individual state tournament.

The 2010 Lady Hornets advanced to the Sweet Sixteen for the first time in school history with thrilling 3-2 win over the Howard Huskies. The Lady Hornets, the #4 seed from Region 1-AA, upset the Region Champion Huskies with a third set win from senior Alicia Duncan closed out the win. The Lady Hornets would fall to powerhouse Screven County in the following round.

The 2012 team built tremendous momentum towards the end of the season and advanced to the Elite Eight for the first time in program history. In perhaps one of the greatest matches in the history of the program, the Lady Hornets outlasted St. Vincent's of Savannah 3-2 in the first round. The Hornets picked up two three set wins, the final coming from senior Marlee Mathis, to defeat the Saints. In the second round, the Lady Hornets hosted the first playoff match in the history of the girls program. Using strong singles play and a key doubles win, the Ladt Hornets advanced 3-2 past Swainsboro and on to the Elite Eight. Cook would fall to powerhouse Bleckley County in the third round.

The Lady Hornets, in AAAA for the first time and fresh off of their first region championship, advanced to the Elite Eight with wins over Upson-Lee and Burke County in the first two rounds. The Lady Hornets would lose a heartbreaking match to West Laurens 2-3, failing to advance to the program's first girls Final Four.

The Lady Hornets, Region 1-AAA Champions, advanced again to the Elite Eight. Cook defeated Tattnall County and Southeast Bulloch to advance. The Lady Hornets would fall in the third round to Lovett, champions of Region 5-AAA and eventual state runner-up.
