MIRRORS

Conway High School is proud to present Mirrors, a quarterly digital experience that will take visitors on a journey of discovery. Each edition includes material curated by CHS students for the diverse world. Mirrors provides all of us with a window to the world so that we can see different groups of people, their history, and the value all human beings hold.
"I believe that our students have assembled something truly great here . . . everything is their creation, from the ideas to the execution. We wanted our kids to take ownership and create amazing work. By envisioning Mirrors, what we've done is given them a space to grow. A space where they can do many things, but most importantly they can live."
"Every voice has the power to make change: the one that roars, and the one that whispers."
Every word of Mirrors is thought through with the intention of shining a light on diverse groups of people. We wanted to empower young people to be thoughtful researchers and activists, but also provide them with an outlet to express their ideas. Every voice has the power to make a difference: the one that roars, and the one that whispers.
Each volume of the quarterly provides a new theme, a unifying message for the world at large. Pay attention to how students seek to empower one another: they are incredible at what they do, and their advocacy is inspiring. Truly, young people are the future.

The "Take a Stand" photos were contributed by Ms. Moore's photography student, CHS alumnus Jackson K. The first and third photos feature alumnus Lillian G., First Chief Editor of Mirrors. The second features seniors Lizzie C. and Keira E. during a local Shakespeare production.
"I wanted to capture Lillian with emphasis on empowerment and determination. Her passion for political/social advocacy and her future as a change-maker was something that I wanted to showcase. I wanted to capture Lizzie and Keira's fluidity and passion for dance in their photo . . . their dancing stood out throughout the show and I knew it needed to be captured."
