The South Carolina Association of Teacher Educators invites proposals for the 2026 Annual Conference, to be held on Friday, October 9, 2026, at Lander University. This year’s conference theme, aligned with the national Association of Teacher Educators theme, is Building Bridges: Connecting Passion, Pedagogy, and Purpose.
The conference seeks to bring together teacher educators, researchers, school partners, graduate students, and educational leaders to explore how passion, reflective practice, innovation, relationships, and well-being shape meaningful teaching and learning experiences. Proposals are encouraged that connect theory to practice and highlight impactful work across teacher preparation, professional learning, research, partnerships, and K-12 education.
Conference sessions will follow a combined presentation format. Two presenters or presentation teams will share each 55-minute session block. Individual presentations should be designed for approximately 20 minutes, followed by 5–10 minutes for questions and discussion. Presenters should plan concise, engaging sessions that encourage dialogue and collaboration among participants.
Proposals may align with one or more of the following conference strands, which are based on ATE’s 2026-2027 conference themes:
Passion-Driven Pedagogy
Building Relationships and Student-Centered Pedagogy
Innovative Approaches to Student Engagement
Reflective Practice: Connecting Growth and Purpose
Mindful Teaching: Well-being and Passion in Education
We welcome proposals from P-12 educators, higher education faculty, graduate students, administrators, and community partners who are committed to advancing teacher education and supporting meaningful learning experiences for all students. Link to proposal form: https://forms.gle/mwW3v6iGAE12LMNQ6
