Program of Study: Learn the art of telling stories through creating journalism products including the yearbook, magazine, newspaper and news website. Students learn all parts that go into the production of these journalism products including writing, reporting, photography, graphic design, videography, audio reporting, and marketing. They will then specialize in reporting, design, photography or marketing in the advanced courses, which also offer leadership opportunities in a student-led program.

Quote from teacher: "There is a reason that studies show journalism programs are one of the clearest pathways to success after high school regardless of a student’s future career. Students get hands-on experience and develop industry-standard skills, learn to communicate and work on a team, and become confident in their ability to be independent and critical thinkers, as well as providing the community service that journalism provides. It’s truly the foundry of a functioning member of a society.”
Quote from student(s): “I’ve found a place where I can concentrate on my passion for writing while also simulating what a newsroom looks like in a real setting. It’s also taught me how to professionally communicate and work with others, allowing me to gain experience for my future while coming together with different people who share a same drive for journalism.” – Natalia Molina, Student Media executive editor
