Kellett School has been incredibly lucky to receive Elena Klimova – our artist in residence for one week only! She has kindly agreed to work with our Year 5's by teaching them how to draw the human figure proportionately. The Year 5's were in awe at her drawing skills – especially the ones she managed to do on some of the students.
Combining science and art, the year 5's were tasked with creating an Art Robot out of recycled materials. The end goal was to get their robot to create a mark on paper using any of the art materials available in the art room. The creativity, innovation and final results were amazing!
The Year 5's this year have started Christmas early. Bringing their festive cheer to create lovely watercolour illustrations for their Christmas cards.
As we like to accumulate well rounded and versatile skills in the Art Department, our current Year 5's have been learning a new design software – Procreate. The Year 5's have been playing with texture and layers to showcase their understanding of design software while also showcasing their take on the surfaces of planets through colour, value and texture.
Following the Year 5 topic of "Space", in our first art lesson, students listened to different sounds from space and drew patterns based on how these sounds felt!
