Taking inspiration from Thai artist Palut Marod, the Year 4's continued with their topic of 'Inside Outside' by recreating Palut's painting style with bouquets of flowers.
After the flours had dried the next step was to create the vase, background by adding value and more texture to our artwork by using oil pastels. The incredible results speak for themselves!
While our Year 4's took turns to finish their multimedia nature pieces (with spray paint!), they were tasked to 'directly observe' plants in situ – either from real life or from a photo – and to digitally create them on the app Sketches School in the style of David Hockney.
The last step to our Year 4's multimedia art pieces is the one they have all been waiting for... SPRAY PAINT! Under adult guidance, the children were able to spray paint a leaf onto their work. The results speak for themselves!
Our Year 4's have created leaf inspired templates to screen print with on their multimedia artworks.
As we continue to delve into Nature and how we can represent it through our artwork; our Year 4's had a go at our famous art carousel. Using various materials on different tables in the Art Room, the Year 4's brought nature indoors to create abstract pieces of artwork.
To kick off this first project in Year 4, the students used their imagination to create a mixed media piece. The idea is to create an abstract piece of artwork that is solely inspired by nature. To get them warmed up we experimented with oil pastels and coloured pencils in their sketchbooks.
