Time to finish our Abstract Bodies project by breaking out the POSCA Pens! Keeping in theme with our hot and cold colours, we finished our artworks. Here are some of the amazing finished pieces!
Using Pablo Picasso and Margaux Carpentier as our artists inspiration, the Year 2's are creating abstract self portraits using the art elements colour, space, value, and line. We had so much fun in the art room with this project. Working in pairs or individually, the children unleashed their inner Picasso and got to work with their abstract self portraits.
The Year 2's then upgraded their materials and used Chalk and Charcoal to create self portraits using the art element of value.
To kick off with Year 2, we had some fun with our self portrait carousel. The children had to make, mould, draw, build paint and collaborate to create their very own self portraits. Including the tricky challenge of creating their very own skin tone! The children used swatches to determine whether their skin tone was as accurate as possible.
