Make sure to LABEL all personal belongings with first and last names (jackets, coats, boots, mittens, rest items, etc.)
Develop a schedule for before and after school which will help regular attendance and punctuality.
Fears and tears are natural and expected but trust that the staff will help your child- lingering makes it harder for students....and sometimes parents too!
Show interest in your child's work to promote a good self-concept. Admire and discuss all those beautiful creations and amazing stories!
Ask specific questions regarding your child's day to avoid generic responses like "fine" and "nothing". EX : What was the first thing you do in reading today? What story did your teacher read you?
Remember, YOU, as the parents or guardians are the child's first and most valuable teacher!
Send a coat/jacket and backpack everyday!! Gotta love Nebraska weather!
On PE days tennis shoes MUST be worn. You will get a schedule of your child's PE day(s) but you can also keep a second pair at school.
Send a labeled extra outfit each new season just in case your child gets dirty at recess, spills at lunch, or by chance has an accident.

If your child rides the bus be sure you contact the transportation department to determine the bus route. This must be done prior to the first day of school.
If your child walks please ensure they have a responsible buddy to walk with to and from school.
If you transport your child- you must follow the parking lot expectations. The numbered system is most efficient if only the drive through lane is used and adults stay in the car. Staff will learn your vehicle and get your child to you! If your child is unable to buckle on their own you can not use the drive through lane, you will need to park your vehicle in the parking lot or street and walk to get your child. Please follow the cues from the staff.
