Requirements: 

-Be in 7th or 8th grade, or made arrangments with Ms. Harveson

-Have participated in 5th/6th grade band 

-Have a personal or school owned instrument and other materials 

What We Do: 

-Perform at 3 concerts throughout the year 

-Perform at all marching competitions and festivals, as applicable (7th grade all parades, 8th grade all parades and field competitions) 

-Work hard to expand our musicianship 

-Dive into music theory, music history and creativity 

Materials: 

Provided by the school: 

• Uniform, hat, gloves and shoes 

• Instrument (if applicable) 

• Sheet music and concert folder

• Band t shirt 

Provided by student/family: 

• Flip folder with extra sheets and proper lyre 

• Water bottle

• Pencils

• Black concert dress (slacks, blouses, polos, button shirts, dress shoes, dresses/skirts) 

• Formal concert dress (any color slacks, blouses, polos, button shirts, dress shoes, dresses/skirts)

• Long black socks

1st Quarter: Marching Band 

2nd Quarter: Marching Band, Creativity and fundamentals, Winter concert music 

3rd Quarter: Music theory, music history, creativity, fundamentals 

4th Quarter: District Music Contest and POPs concert
