Who can do band?
Band begins in 5th or 6th grade for any interested student at Conestoga during the 2025 school year.
When does band meet during the day?
5th and 6th grade band meets at the end of the school day. We will work in instrument groups for the first few months, and then start to combine into full band.
Band lessons will begin shortly after the start of the 2025 school year.
How are instruments selected?
Last April, students moving into 5th and 6th grade tried out instruments with Ms. Harveson during general music class. Together, we made a selection of one or two instruments that would be a good fit.
Sometimes, certain physical features will help you play an instrument, but other times it is up to choice. If you have an instrument already, your student is welcome to use it, but instruments can be rented from the school.

Is my student graded?
Yes! Band is a grade, just like any subject. Students earn their grades by participating and completing assignments.
