Mrs. Emrick

My name is Leigh Ann Emrick, and I am your child’s 2nd grade teacher for the 2020-2021 school year.

A little bit about me: I am originally from Athens, GA. This is my 14th year teaching, and my 3rd year in Michigan-- I am a fairly new midwesterner! I have taught Pre-K, 1st, and 2nd grade. Second grade is my favorite!

My husband, Daniel, and I have 2 children: Layla is 9 and Logan is 7. We love to explore Michigan and spend time together as a family!

If you have ANY questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. You may email me at Emrickl@comstockps.org. I'm looking forward to a great year!

WMU Teacher Candidate: Ms. Lyddon

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Happy New Year! My name is Jenna Lyddon and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to spend this semester with your children and learn from them. I have been placed in Ms. Emrick’s second grade classroom for my final internship through Western Michigan University. I am a fourth-year student studying Early Childhood/Elementary Education, on track to graduate in May of 2021.

Over the last ten years, I have had many opportunities to work with children of different ages. I was an assistant director and camp teacher at the Marquis Children’s Theatre in Northville, MI for children ages six to 16. I have worked at the Gagie School as an assistant preschool teacher for the past two years and love that each and every day is different and holds new opportunities to grow for both my students and myself. In addition, I have also tutored third grade students and completed three pre-internships in the Kalamazoo area. When given the right resources, children can achieve anything they put their little minds to, and I want to be a part of that by helping your students to see the potential they hold within themselves.

This semester, it is my goal to create bonds with your children and help them to reach new heights in their schooling, whether virtually or in-person. I will be in the classroom with your children five days a week. I am so excited to not only learn from your children, but also from Ms. Emrick and cannot thank her enough for accepting me into her classroom and becoming a mentor to me.

I look forward to not only helping your children to learn, but learning something new myself each day I spend with them. It will be a great semester in Ms. Emrick’s second grade classroom!

Sincerely,

Ms. Lyddon
