Hardware Rentals

RENTAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. The Customer shall keep and maintain the rented equipment during the terms of the rental at his own cost and expense. They shall keep the equipment in a good state of repair, normal wear and tear excepted.

2. The Customer shall pay Compass full compensation for replacement and/or repair of any equipment which is not returned because it is lost or stolen or any equipment which is damaged and in need of repair to put it into the same condition it was in at the time of rental, normal wear and tear excepted. Compass' invoice for replacement or repair is conclusive as to the amount Customer shall pay under this paragraph for repair or replacement. Replacement or damage costs is capped at a maximum of three years rental charge, per rental unit (excluding any discounts).

3. The Customer shall not remove the equipment from the address provided to Compass or the location agreed upon as the place of use of the equipment without prior written approval of Compass.

4. The Customer shall inform Compass upon request of the exact location of the equipment while it is in the Customers possession.

5. The equipment shall be delivered to the Customer and returned to Customer at the Customer's risk, cost and expense.

6. The Customer shall allow Compass to enter Customer's premises where the rented equipment is stored or used at all reasonable times to locate and inspect the state and condition of the rented equipment or to carry out any technical support required.

7. Notice of return of a hardware device must be made no later than 30 days prior to the renewal date of the unit.

8. Rentals are for a minimum of 12 months unless otherwise stated.

9. Some rentals may require back-order and accordingly delivery time may vary from the expected delivery date.

10. These terms are accepted by the Customer upon the earlier of quote acceptance or delivery.

Insurance

Included insurance coverage and value vary based on the hardware rental unit.

*Prices above are exclusive of GST. Compass recommends adding units to general insurance policies.

#Non-return units will have any associated software or module licences or subscriptions disabled.

Credits (Rental Extension at no cost)

To be eligible for an extension to rental credit (extension of rental at no cost) then the following must be met:

- The unit has been reported as faulty and not have been resolved, for the reported fault within 10 school business days; or

- The unit has failed or continues to be faulty within 30 days of another repair (with the same symptoms), with a cumulative unavailable time of 10 school business days; or

- In some additional circumstances at Compass' discretion

In these circumstances, an additional rental period will be added to the agreement, at no cost. The period will be determined by Compass at their discretion, taking into consideration the time of unavailability.

SMS Messages

Hardware rentals may include notification functionality, which may send SMS messages in certain circumstances. By default, these options may be enabled. For more information on these functions and how these may be disabled please contact us ahead of using the device. You accept all liability SMS costs raised by hardware devices. For information on SMS costs, please refer to our SMS Messaging agreement.

Change of mind or Customer Return (within rental period)

Rental of the unit includes delivery costs, setup and configuration, testing, software development licence costs and hardware costs. In the event of early termination and return of a rental unit, the following return credits will apply.

Should you wish to cancel a recurring hardware rental, please advise us no later than 30 days from the renewal date of the hardware unit.

Return and pickup charges vary and are charged at the lower of pickup and return-to-base time ($72 per hour excluding GST) or registered insured courier quotation.

Change of mind for hardware does not apply in partnership agreements (multi-year agreements) to "included" or "complementary" rentals, discounted or refurbished units. Substitution of hardware offerings or unit type is not permitted.
