Advanced Chemistry

Prerequisites: B or better in Chemistry

Level: Senior

Advanced Chemistry is a yearlong laboratory science involving the study of inorganic, organic, and biochemistry. Using primary scientific documents will be an emphasis including proper citation techniques, various graphical techniques, and following established scientific writing style. Topics include: exploration of types of reaction, in-depth stoichiometry, gas laws, enthalpy, atomic theory, balancing chemical equations, limiting and excess reactants, and periodicity. This class in conjunction with chemistry should prepare students to be successful in college level chemistry.
