Discover Your Passion + Purpose
You are more successful in your career, college, and/or your postsecondary programs when you have a strong "why" for being there. You do not need to know exactly where you will be in five years -- you do need strong purpose-seeking skills, and you should have a solid understanding of your interests and strengths.
NEXT LEVEL NOLA
Getting ready for college
This section contains activities and materials to support the "softer side" of college preparation -- there are conversation tools and other resources around college knowledge, general postsecondary readiness, and career-ready skills.
College Decisions
Choosing a college that is the right fit and match is critical to postsecondary success. We want all students to consider affordability, graduate rates of the college, academic programming, and personal preferences about the school. This section aims to support you in that process.
Enrollment steps
Congratulations! You’ve been accepted to college and are on your way to setting foot on your college campus, attending orientation, and preparing for class. Enrollment Steps are the various steps that require your action between being accepted to a college and attending class this coming August. Think of it as a "to-do list" where everything needs to be checked off before June of the year you graduate from high school.
Finances + financial Aid
In this section, we have resources and information to support you with:
FAFSA Completion
Financial Aid Verification
Understanding Student Loans
College Cost Comparisons
Scholarships
Military resources
What are the different branches of the military? What is the ASVAB and how can I prepare for it? What information will I need as a new graduate to make an informed decision about enrolling in one of the branches of the military? Check out this section for resources and ways to get more answers!
Bridge Year
Bridge Year is a transitional period that may be 12 weeks up to a year where CA graduates actively participate in building skills and capacity toward long-term goals. Opportunities can include certification programs, job readiness programs, and/or service programs.
This section has tools and resources to help you find and enroll in a Bridge Year program that is the right fit for you.
Alumni + advisor Voices
Some of our very own CA alumni walk us through the differences between high school and college and many other lessons they have learned along the way! Our advisors have also chimed in to help you get the most out of this support system you get being a CA graduate!
