This section has been designed by students of 4º A/B of the year 2021-2022. They have written about various aspects about climate change to raise awareness and propose some solutions to prevent it from getting worse.
THE PROBLEM
We thought that recycling was a modern phenomenon, typical of our consumption and growing concern about the environment, but we were wrong. 1300 years ago, our ancestors already reused their tools, as it has just been demostrated in an article that is published in Journal of Archaelogical Science. Recycling may have been decisive in the hunter and collector populations of this time, since reusing resources would avoid travelling to the place where the raw materials were found to manufacture the tools, which could be found away from the camp.
CAUSES AND EFFECTS
The Earth recycles all its resoucces naturally and reuses the materials of the dead plants and animals to feed new plants and create new fertile soils.
Humanity should follow the example of Mother Nature and recycle everything we can. If we do not practice recycling every day, these are the consequences of what could happen:
Air polution
Garbage accumulation
Increase in greenhouses gases
Decrease in fossil fuels
Destruction of natural habitats
Total deforestation
Contamination of the ocean
SOLUTIONS
The benefits of recycling are:
Peservation of natural resources
Decrease in pollution
Energy saving
Saving money
Although it seems simple, many times we do not know how to recycle in a practical way. Some tips to get it are:
Read the labels and containers
Deposit the residues in the corresponding container
Separate waste into independent containers
Learn what to do with special waste
Recycle kitchen oil
Clean the food containers before throwing them into the container
Reduce the size of bottles and bricks
Involve all your family and surroundings in your recycling plan
Recycle and reuse
CONCLUSION
It can be said that recycling is the best way to make the most of the materials used to create new materials. Recycling is a process that depends on the contribution of all. That is why recycling is the best help for the enviroment. Thanks to recycling we have many advantages such as the conservation of energy, raw materials and natural resources. The most important thing about recycling is that through this practice you can contribute to make our surroundings much cleaner and in this way be able to enjoy a planet free of pollution.

What is climate change?
Normally, everybody knows what climate change is, but if someone doesn’t know, climate change is a change apparent from the mid to late 20th century onwards and attributed largely to the increased levels of atmospheric carbon dioxide produced by the use of fossil fuels.
Who is to blame for climate change?
The problem of climate change is because of humans and the things we do in our daily life.
According to the national institute of environmental health science in the U.S.A., climate change has made many diseases that we have worse, and has helped plagues and pathogenics to spread in our region.
People at risk
The most vulnerable people, like children, old people, the poor or people with health problems have more risk of dying because of causes related to climate change and pollution.
Diseases
Heart and respiratory diseases like asthma, kidney failure and premature deliveries have increased due to extreme hot and air pollution.
Solutions
This problem is very important, but if we work, perhaps we will have a better life. Some solutions for climate change are: reducing the use of plastic, and increasing the use of public transport.
Reflection
If we don’t do anything the world is going to deteriorate and we won't be able to live in our world.
The clothing, the footwear and cloth industries are responsible for water and air pollution, greenhouse gases and landfills.
Producing clothes spend much water.
For example: 10.000 litres of water are spent to make a pair of jeans. They use plastic too and it ends in the ocean.
The principal cause is that many people buy many clothes and they take them out early.
As a result of this, around 10% of CO2 emissions in the whole world are from clothing industry.
75% of clothing produced in a single year is burned. Materials like cotton, nylon, or polyester aren't biodegradable.
We must stop this and there are many solutions to get it.
Don't throw away your clothing, you can donate it or recycle old clothes.
You can buy second-hand clothes.
Avoid INDITEX stores (Zara, Pull&Bear, Berska, Stradivarius, Oysho...).
And just buy the necessary or what you're sure you're going to use.
