We've got a wonderful selection of titles from which to choose. You can join us in the library for our Summber Book Checkout event on May 28th, or stop by any time after the 28th to find and check out books.
Can't get here in person? No problem! Browse the entire collection by going to our Library Catalog. You will also find a range of "Topic Walls" (book lists based on various themes) on the landing page of the catalog which you can peruse.
Want to get some recommendations by genre or type of book? Try our Spotlight Lists!
When you know which book or books you want to check out for the summer, you can either send Ms. Binder (CHS Librarian) an email with the title/author of the book/books you want, or you can fill out this simple book request form.
Ms. Binder will deliver your books to you before the end of the year.
We encourage you to read often and read widely all summer long! This summer, we also invite all rising 9-12th grade CHS students to keep track of the minutes they spend reading, and report their totals to Ms. Binder.
The class with the most minutes logged by the end of September (yes, I'm giving you an extra month) will be recognized during our Spirit Week festivities in October!
Plus, the top 25 individual readers in grades 9-12 will be invited to an exclusive celebration in the CHS Library in the fall!
See below for how to track and report your reading minutes.
If you prefer to track your minutes with pen and paper, you might want to pick up one of our summer reading challenge bookmarks (with reading log on the back) or one of our summer reading log booklets.
For those of you who prefer a digital means of tracking your minutes. You might try one of the following apps:
When you're ready to report your minutes at the end of September, simply fill out and submit this "Log Your Summer Reading Minutes" form!
Happy reading!
