Britannica is a good place to start your research.  Find basic background info on topics as well as images, video, primary sources,  and resources for further research.

Four databases available through FactCite offer a range of historical primary source documents, U.S. history resources, biographical information, and resources for international studies. Login information can be found in the Library Passwords document.

NEW: Research Guides

We're moving our LibGuides to Google Sites.  Check out the "Power" Research Guide here.

Class Research Guides (LibGuides) are created at teachers' requests; they are collections of links to resources in a variety of formats specific to a particular unit of study or class assignment.  Peruse the list of LibGuides here.

Try the JStor database of academic journal articles, primary source documents, and ebooks.  This resource is commonly used at the college and university level.

LearningExpress Library features online tutorials, practice tests, and e-books to help patrons of all ages. It offers job search and workplace skills improvement, skill building in reading, writing, math, and basic science, career certification and licensure exam prep, college and grad school entrance test prep, GED® test prep, and more.

Academic Search Engines (don't just "Google" it..."Sweet Search" it!)

A great alternative search engine featuring curated results - more effective option for online research.

Another good alternative search engine - this one returns results similar to a Google search, but tries to weed out some of the sponsored content that can clog Google results.
