At some point during your time at Colby, you will probably encounter a need to obtain a US government-issued ID, whether for work, travel, or identification purposes. If you would like to have an on-campus job at Colby, you must have a social security number (SSN) granted by the federal government. You might also want a driver's license or Maine state ID to carry around instead of your passport and paperwork. Whatever reason you may have, below is information on how to obtain social security numbers and state IDs for International students. If you have any questions or converns, please reach out to a member of our team, as we would be more than happy to assist you in the process!
