Advance Placement Courses
Advance Placement (AP)
According to research, students who take Advance Placement (AP) courses outperform others in college, particularly in grades and graduation rates.
CMS along with faculty and staff at West Charlotte High School believes that all children deserve access to the rigor of advanced coursework and can be successful with the appropriate support system.
Is "AP" For Me?
Making a decision to take an AP course can be challenging. Thus, here are some suggested questions to consider when making your decision.
Are you an independent worker; if so how well do you work independently?
How will you manage the expectations of AP courses?
How diligently are you willing to work to be successful in the course?
What kinds of support do you feel you need to be successful in an AP course? How will you develop that support?
What is your understanding of the significance of the AP exam at the end of the year? How will you benefit from studying for the exam and striving to do your best?
