Focus: Developing scholastic abilities & identifying multiple avenues for success at Phillip O. Berry
Test(s): PreACT and PSAT
Strategies for Success: This is the year to begin honing your skills with standardized tests. Both tests will provide you data on skills you may need to hone prior to taking the SAT or ACT.
You have plenty of time to improve before your Junior year, so study for these tests, and do not forget to practice with your test taking strategies, especially timing and endurance.
Doing well on these tests also opens two additional doors for you. Your PSAT score will provide our school information on how successful you may be in an AP course.
Similarly, doing well enough on either the PSAT or PreACT allows students to dual enroll in CPCC courses as Juniors. Both opportunities allow students to enter college with earned credits, saving you time and money. (*see the school CDC for more information about this program)
