2023-24 IHS School Improvement Team Member Election Survey
Criteria for Consideration:
Candidates must be willing to remain positive, objective and focused on the goal of improving teaching and learning. In addition they should be willing to devote time, energy, and creativity needed to be an effective team member. Members of the School Leadership Team (SLT) are directly involved in the development and monitoring of the School Improvement Plan, and as appropriate, some of the day-to-day operations of the school.
Function and Responsibilities of Elected Members
1. Facilitates the development of the School Improvement Plan.
2. Uses data to create programmatic instructional change.
3. Monitors, assesses, and amends the School Improvement Plan, as needed.
4. Advances policies and procedures that enhance achievement and meet educational, safety and parent involvement goals.
5. Facilitates communication within the Professional Learning Community.
6. Builds the capacity of the school to address parent and staff concerns.
Term of Office Considerations:
The term of office is somewhat flexible. Each member will serve a minimum of one year and a maximum of three consecutive years. To ensure that there is some consistency of membership from year to year, it is suggested that approximately two-thirds of the composition of the team remain each year, while approximately one-third of the members rotate off.
