The Personal Project is completed during 10th grade (though it may begin towards the end of 9th grade).
The Project is an independent, research-based investigation into a topic that interests the student.
Each student has a faculty supervisor who meets periodically with the student for discussions of progress and academic honesty.
Students must keep a Process Journal during the development of the Personal Project.
Students create a Product in response to the research conducted.
Students write a reflective Paper at the end of the project which details the subject under investigation, the research conducted, and the creation of the final Product.
The Personal Project is scored by the faculty of the school, and these scores, along with a sample group of projects, are submitted to IB for moderation.
