Office Hours

Office hours are opportunities when students can drop into their teacher’s virtual classroom to ask questions regarding assignments or receive additional support as needed. Participation in office hours are not required, but are encouraged if a student is in need of additonal support. Teachers may also reach out to students as needed requesting that they attend office hours.

Virtual Class Time

• During virtual class time, students will participate in a lesson with their teacher(s) and be given independent work time to complete graded assignments. It is an expectation that students attend virtual class daily. Attendance will be taken daily to monitor student participation. Students are expected to arrive on time as late arrivals cause disruptions to the learning environment.

• All students will participate in virtual class Monday through Friday from 9:15- 3:10, with a lunch block at 11:45 - 12:15. During this time, students will receive support in all 4 content areas (reading, math, science, and social studies) through live sessions and small groups. Students not in small groups, shall remain on zoom call to receive assistance if necessary as they complete asynchronous work.

Supplemental Work

Supplemental Work: As a fifth grade team, we are committed to providing extension resources for students. While these assignments will not be formally graded, we encourage students to continue to sharpen their skills outside of the virtual class time weekly. Teachers can also provide feedback and needed support during office hours upon request. We want our rising 6th grade students to be ready for middle school!
