Garinger High School welcomes hundreds of new students each year. We want your enrollment to go as smoothly and quickly as possible. Things go faster when you have all of the needed items at the time of your enrollment at Garinger. Thank you, in advance, for your patience as we try to help all students and families.
Confirm your attendance zone before you contact Garinger. Use this tool to confirm Garinger is your home school.
Review the CMS Parent/Student Handbook for any questions you have about attending school, school rules, etc.
For students with IEPs or 504 Plans, it is very helpful if you bring copies of your most recent plan when you enroll at Garinger (though it is not required).
For Multilingual Learners beginning high school in the USA for the first time, begin at the CMS International Center.
Complete your enrollment form before you arrive at school to speed things up. Click here for forms in Spanish & English.
Bring all the documents you need when you arrive to enroll. These are specific documents that are needed.
Provide an official copy of the transcript (or report card) from the student's most recent school if possible.
Understand the student's grade level. The student's grade level may change from your last school because CMS determines grade level based on 9th grade entry year and number of credits. Learn more here.
Learn about graduation requirements before you arrive. Students will take eight classes with the focus on courses required for graduation. Learn more from our CMS Parent/Student Handbook and from the worksheets you will find here.
Transfers to Garinger from another CMS school must provide the proper documentation to confirm valid enrollment. These include a signed form from Student Placement, a copy of valid parent/guardian identification, and may include updated proof of domicile/residency.
Transfers from Garinger to another CMS school must follow the CMS process for doing so. Speak with someone in Student Services or Administration if you have questions.
