Welcome to Mrs. Frizzell's Science Lab. I have uploaded links for Mystery Science so that students can continue learning and exploring science topics in a digital environment. Mini lessons are great science shorts for all grade levels. Please use the drop down arrow on the home screen to find links to Mystery Science lessons for each grade level. Lessons include videos and guided activities that students can try at home. Look for weekly updates on your grade level page.
Good Morning my wonderful scientist. I can't believe that this is our last full week of school. It's been a different year for all of us, but I hope that you were able to continue learning and exploring science. To prepare for our virtual scavenger hunt we will review Matter. I've included a Mystery Science Link and some amazing videos that show that ice isn't the only thing that melts when it gets too hot. Go to your grade level page to access the videos and activity.
Mystery Science is going live once again, and it's all about space. Doug's special guest will be astronaut Jessica Meir who filmed videos for Mystery Science while in space.
If you haven't gotten a chance to take the Nickelodeon virtual field trip I encourage you to do so. It's quite amazing to see how slime reacts in space.
To prepare for the live event learn about space on the NASA website. You can learn more about Jessica Meir and other astronauts. Just follow the link below. I also added a link for great space exploration material for all grades. Go to your grade level page to find cool topics and experiments that you can try. A big thanks to 3rd grade teacher Ms Burgess for sharing this with us!

Thank you Mrs. Calkins, 5th grade teacher, for sharing this!
Happy Monday! Here's a new Mystery Doug Short just in time for Mother's Day. Learn how flowers bloom in spring. The project with this lesson makes a great gift for mom or someone special. If you don't have the supplies for the project it's ok. There are other ways to experiment with this lesson. You'll either need light colored flowers, pieces of celery or lettuce leaves and a few drops of food coloring.
