Junior Marshals shall be determined based on academic performance as of the 15th school day of the fall semester of their third year of high school. Selection is limited to students whose cumulative grade point average (GPA) ranks within the top five percent (5%) of their class on that date.
Eligibility Criteria:
• Students must be members of the Junior class.
Procedures:
1. The school counseling department will calculate each student’s cumulative GPA using all final grades earned up to and including the most recent completed semester prior to the 15th school day of the fall semester.
2. Class rank and GPA data will be finalized as of the 15th school day. No subsequent grade changes, schedule adjustments, or transfer grades will alter the eligibility determination.
3. The number of Junior Marshals will be based on the total number of students in the junior class, rounded to the nearest whole number representing the top 5%. Note: This number can and will fluctuate each year.
4. Selected Junior Marshals will be recognized and serve at official school ceremonies, including graduation and other designated events.
Top Knights shall be determined based on academic performance calculated after the completion of the first semester of the senior year. GPA calculations used for determining Top Knights will not include grades from yearlong courses that are still in progress at that time.
Eligibility Criteria:
• Students must be members of the graduating class.
Procedures:
1. The counseling department will calculate each senior’s cumulative GPA using all completed courses through the end of the first semester of the senior year, excluding any ongoing yearlong courses.
2. Class rank and GPA data will be finalized following the posting of first-semester grades.
3. The total number of Top Knights will be determined by calculating 5% of the total number of students in the graduating class, rounded to the nearest whole number.
4. Top Knights will be announced prior to the Senior Awards Night in May and recognized at that ceremony.
