National English Honor Society

The mission of the National English Honor Society is to serve society by fostering literacy and encouraging excellence in English language arts. NEHS aims to recognize outstanding academic achievement in English, promote interest in the study of English, and support community engagement through reading, writing, and service initiatives.

The purpose of the National English Honor Society is to: recognize high school students who have demonstrated excellence in English language and literature; encourage members to continue pursuing the study of English and related fields; promote literacy and a lifelong love of reading, writing, and critical thinking; provide cultural enrichment and service opportunities within schools and the broader community; and foster fellowship among individuals who share a passion for the English language and its power to connect and inspire.
